APC hosts Asia ICT Policy Consultation

APC is organising a regional consultation meeting on ICT Policy in South Asia from the 19th till 21st April, 2006 at BRAC Centre Inn, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is one of the few meetings of its kind, post-WSIS, to bring together community media makers and ICT rights advocates. c2o Director and OPEN CHANNEL Program Director, Andrew Garton, will present the paper, A Vision For Community Use of the Digital Television Spectrum, prepared by Ellie Rennie for the Community Spectrum Taskforce.

The objectives of the meeting are: To engage in surfacing ICT policy priorities and advocacy strategies in countries of Asia particularly in South Asia, To exchange information on ICT policy related work, research activities, development agendas, innovative solutions etc. To explore new ways of networking and coordinating issues that can influence ICT policy research and advocacy in South Asia.
